Boat tours up the Rio Negro – 3 days and 2 nights

 
Day 1

Pick up from your hotel at 8:00am to go to Ceasa Port where you will get to see the Amazon freshwater fish market. Then we will take our houseboat to the famous ‘Meeting of the Waters’ where the Rio Negro and the Solimôes meet to form the Amazon River, where you will have an opportunity to take photos and hear an explanation of the phenomenon.

We continue upriver to the Janauary Ecological Park, where we will take a catwalk through the jungle to see the famous giant water lilies, take photos and hear about the ecology. We will see one of the biggest trees in the rainforest, the Samaura, before returning to the houseboat for lunch.

After lunch we will go piranha fishing and then return to the houseboat to start heading upriver to Cachoeiro do Castanha village, where we will stay overnight. On the way upriver, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner. After dinner we will go out for a nocturnal canoe ride to explore the area and spot nocturnal wildlife. Maybe a snake, or another animal – whatever nature has in store for us. We will return to spend the night on the houseboat.

Arriving at a small village named Careiro, we will board our van for one hour and half traveling on the BR 319/AM 254 highway where we will have the chance to make a stop to see the water lilies. After driving on federal highway , we will take the state highway 254 where you may enjoy , the round , and pleasant landscape.

Then it’s on to (Mutuca River) where our regional wood canoe boat will be waiting for us to go to (Amzon Green tours jungle lodge) accommodation lunch, in the afternoon leave the lodge by Speed boat down stream along the mutuca river with great view of the landscape to (Muritinga Lake) for piranha fishing Dolphin Spot and great chance to see the most exotic birds of region after sunset, in the way back to the lodge you do Aligators spot and start to return to the lodge, in the way back sometime we can see snake or owl that is up to your luck, then dinner and overnight.

Day 2

At 5:30am the houseboat will start to move upriver to Jaraqui, which is one of the tributaries of the Rio Negro. On the way, you will have a great opportunity to witness a spectacular sunrise, enjoy breakfast and then go on a jungle trek for about 3 to 4 hours with an explanation of medicinal plants, survival techniques and fauna and flora.

We will return to the houseboat for lunch before moving on to Acajatuba Lake where we will visit a small village to see the process of collecting rubber. Afterwards you will go swimming with the pink dolphins then return to the houseboat for dinner. That evening we will go out to spot caimans and the guide will catch a small one with his bare hands. We will return to spend the night on the houseboat.

Day 3

 After breakfast we will visit one of the Amazon tributaries by motorised canoe to spot wildlife; monkeys, birds, and sloths. It’s back to the houseboat for lunch, then we go downriver to Tatuzinho village where you will have the opportunity to see members of the Barrasana tribe perform rituals and you will be able to dance with them for about 40 minutes. We will then go back to the houseboat and start our return to Manaus to arrive at 5:00pm.

We will return to the houseboat for lunch before moving on to Acajatuba Lake where we will visit a small village to see the process of collecting rubber. After arriving at the Three Mouths we will go along the island to explore by motorised canoe . We can spot monkeys, macaws, toucans, and parrots too. We will return for dinner, then at night go caiman spotting before returning to spend the night on the houseboat.

Return for lunch In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to go out for canoeing in the creeks ( Igarapés), depending on the season, in the dry season we will do along the river, where you have the opportunity to see more wildlife, like monkeys, birds and toucans . You return for dinner and afterwards you go for another nocturnal  night  hiking  for  about 30 to 40 minuts  to listen the nature sounds and  to spot nocturna wildlife and then return for overnight.

Day 3)

Before breakfast, we will go to explore to see more macaws and toucans. After breakfast we will canoe around the island to spot wildlife, then back for lunch. After lunch, we will move downriver to Acajatuba Lake where you will swim with the pink dolphins, then it’s back to the houseboat for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 4

After breakfast we will visit one of the Amazon tributaries by motorised canoe to spot wildlife; monkeys, birds, and sloths. It’s back to the houseboat for lunch, and then we go downriver to Tatuzinho village where you will have the opportunity to see members of the Barrasana tribe perform rituals for about 40 minutes and you will be able to dance with them. We then go back to the houseboat and start our return to Manaus to arrive at about 5:00pm  

5 Days and 4 Nights

 
 
 
Day 1

Transfer from your hotel to the pier to board the houseboat, with hammock accommodation on the upper deck. We will head east towards the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ where the Solimôes and Rio Negro, the two tributaries, meet to form the Amazon River.

We will take the Solimôes for approximately 4 hours upriver until we reach its small tributaries, called the Iranduba, where we will spend the day doing activities; piranha fishing, birdwatching, dolphin spotting, and seeing the giant water lilies.

At night, we will go alligator spotting, then after having dinner on the boat, we will head to the Amazon tributaries; first the Solimôes and then up the Rio Negro to where we will spend the night at the village of Cachoeira do Castanha.

Day 2

Breakfast on the boat, then a morning jungle trek for about 3 to 4 hours with an explanation of medicinal plants, survival techniques, fauna and flora, and the Amazon ecosystem. Upon returning to the boat we will move on to the Anavilhanas Archipelago, where we will either canoe through flooded jungle or go for another trek to spot more wildlife.

Return for lunch In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to go out for canoeing in the creeks ( Igarapés), depending on the season, in the dry season we will do along the river, where you have the opportunity to see more wildlife, like monkeys, birds and toucans . You return for dinner and afterwards you go for another nocturnal night hiking for  about 30 to 40 to listen the nature sounds and to spot nocturna wildlife and then return for overnight.

After dinner we will go by paddle canoe to hear the nocturnal jungle song, and then return to the boat. We will then proceed upriver on the Rio Negro to Cuieras River, a tributary of the Rio Negro where we will sleep. 

Day 3

Breakfast, then we will visit native people in a caboclos dwelling. This is a good opportunity to see how the native people deal with the jungle and their typical way of life. We will visit their plantations to see manioc and other crops. Lunch on the boat, then in the afternoon we will take the hammocks and mosquito nets to camp out in the forest. We will set up our camp, put up the hammocks with mosquito nets and enjoy dinner.

We set up our camp and you will learn how the natives survival in the wild using natural things like leaves to make a plates and using wood to make spoon.we’ll have dinner and afterward we go out for small nocturnal hike to spot nights life back to the camp to sleep.

Day 4

Breakfast in the jungle, then another jungle trek to explore the area and learn more about the Amazon rainforest, as well as more jungle survival techniques; how to climb trees and how to get water from a vine. Following lunch, we will move camp somewhere else. At night we’ll go out for a nocturnal canoe trip.

We return to the campsite and eat then take everything and move to spend the night in differents place where you go to set up another camp and after noctunal canoeing to spot night life and back to the camp for sleep.

Day 5

Return to the boat for breakfast and start sailing downriver. On the way we will stop at another tributary of the Rio Negro, the Acajatuba, to swim with the pink dolphins and visit a nearby Indian tribe to see ritual dance and music. Then we have lunch as we start to return to Manaus, arriving at about 6:30pm
